Nighttime

We had 16 children and 7 adults attend story hour this morning. Our letter today was the letter N. Our stories today were about the night sky. Our first story was

Goodnight Moon by Margaret Brown Most of the children where familiar with this book and we had fun looking for the mouse on each page.  After the story we sang "twinkling stars" to the tune of "twinkle little star." We wiggled our fingers to be like twinkling stars in the night sky. We sang the song through a couple of times. Our next story was

Sky All Around by Anna Hines This story is about a little girl and her dad. They climb a hill to see the night sky. They look at the stars and the different shapes that they make.  After the story we sang "Rocketship Run" by the Laurie Berkner Band. The kids had fun blasting off, spinning, jumping, and dancing. Our last story today was

Polar Bear Night by Lauren Thompson This story is about a little polar bear who leaves it's mother sleeping to go look at the night sky. For our craft today we made a night scene with the letter N. Next weeks theme is O is for Ocean.
