It was a cool and wet morning today, but we still had 18 children and 10 adults attend story hour. Today's letter was the letter B. Our first story this morning was

Bee! by Britta Teckentrup This book takes you on a journey through a day in the life of a bee. We were getting really squirmy by the end of the book, so we sang the song "Baby Bumblebee." I have a feeilng some of the kids will be singing this song for the rest of the week! We then did a finger play called "Be Hive." Our fists where beehive's and our fingers were the bees inside the beehive.  Our next story was

The Honeybee and the Robber by Eric Carle This was a fun pop-up book that also looked at a bees life and how bears like to try and steal honey. After the story we learned about patterns. We tried out some patterns using bees and beehives. Overall everyone did pretty good and knowing what came next. After doing a few patterns, it  was time for our craft. Our craft today turned the letter B into a bee! Next weeks letter is C is for Caterpillar.
