Bubbles, Bubbles, Everywhere!

We had eleven children and six adults brave the raining weather today. Today's theme was bubbles. Our first story was

Bubble, Bubble by Mercer Mayer This story is about a little boy who buys some magic bubbles. The bubbles take the shape of different animals and other objects. The boy is having a great time until one of his bubbles starts to come after him. However, the boy deals with this by just blowing more bubbles. After the story we sang "Bubble, Bubble, Pop"  The kids enjoyed clapping at the end of each verse when we sang pop! Our next and last story was

Trouble with Bubbles by Frank Edwards In this story a bunch of zoo animals are out playing and they get all dirty. The zookeeper sends them to the tub with a bar of soup to get clean. The animals soon have the tub overflowing with bubbles! Next, we made a small bubble with our hands, a medium sized bubble, and a great big bubble. We then counted our bubbles as we made them and at the end clapped our hands and said POP!

For our craft today we blew bubbles of course. I added food coloring to the bubble solution and then had the kids blow bubbles onto a piece of paper. When the bubbles popped they would leave a mark on the paper. Next week is our last week and the theme is Happy Birthday!
