D is for Dinosaurs

We had 21 dinosaurs and 8 adults at the library today! The first book we read today was

Sammy and the Dinosaurs by Ian Whybrow Sammy finds some old dinosaurs in the attic. He cleans them up and puts them in a pail. Sammy carries the bucket of dinosaurs with him wherever he goes. After the story we sang "We are the Dinosaurs" by the Laurie Berkner Band.  We did a lot of stomping and roaring! Next, we did a magnetic activity called

Ten Dinosaurs. I repeated a rhyme until only one dinosaur was left on the board. The last dinosaur then called for all the other dinosaurs to come back, because he was lonely. We were running out of time but we quickly read another book called

Dinosaurumpus by Tony Mitton All the dinosaurs are coming out to dance. Including the big tyrannosaurs! We then hurried to the tables to make the letter D into a dinosaur. Next weeks theme is E is for Elephants.
