Dinosaurs

We had a large group at story hour today! I started with a knock knock joke about dinosaurs to introduce our theme for the day. Our first story was

Dinosaurumpus by Tony Mitton The dinosaurs are dancing up some fun. Even the mighty T-Rex joins in on the fun. After the story we pretended to be dinosaurs and sang "We Are the Dinosaurs" by the Laurie Berkner Band. Our next story was

Dinosaur Days by Liza Baker Harold uses his purple crayon to go in search of his favorite dinosaur. After the story we pretended to go on our own dinosaur hunt. We sloshed through a swamp, stomped through a bridge, swam through a stream, and climbed up and down a tree. Then we found a dinosaur in a cave and ran back home. Our last story for the day was

Curious George's Dinosaur Discovery by Cathy Hapka Curious George is helping some scientists dig for dinosaur bones. George gets into a bit of mischief that leads to his discovery of some dinosaur bones! Our craft today was to make a dinosaur hat. Next weeks theme will be about owls.
