Halloween Cats

We had 31 children and 12 adults come to the library today. Many of the children wore their Halloween costumes. Our first story today was

Moonlight the Halloween Cat by Cynthia Rylant This story is about a cat  whose favorite night is Halloween night. After the story we did a rhyme called,"Black Cat." The children enjoyed it and because the rhymes pretty short, we said it twice. Our second story today was a Halloween draw and tell story. It was about a Witch that was getting ready for Halloween. The picture I drew as a told the story was of a cat. Our last story today was

Scary, Scary, Halloween by Eve Bunting This story is about a family of cats that are frightened by the children walking around on Halloween night. So, they hide until all the children have gone home. Then they come out of hiding to prowl. Instead of making a craft today, the children got to play some Halloween games. The games were pin the tail on the cat, witches hat ring toss, pumpkin bowling, and feed the monsters. We handed out bags with treats in them as they left. Next weeks theme is tractors.

Happy Halloween!
