The Bears in the Bed and the Great Big Storm by Paul Bright In this story a family of bears is sleeping while it is storming outside. One by one the bear cubs wake up and are frightened by the storm. They think there is a monster outside. They all end up in bed with mama and papa. Everyone is sleeping except for papa. He is listening to the thunder and watching the lightning flash. Is there really a monster outside? After the story we sang "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." Our next story was

Split Splat by Amy Gibson This story is filled with silly words while the pictures depict a girl and her dog playing outside in the rain and mud. After the story we sang "Rain is Falling Down" to the tune of "Farmer and the Dell." We had to sing this one twice because the first go around was a bit rough. The second time through we did much better with the words and actions! Our last story today was

Are you Ready to Play Outside? by Mo Willems This is a Piggie & Elephant book. In this story Piggie & Elephant are going to play outside, but it starts to rain. Will they play outside or does the rain ruin their day? After the story it was time to do our craft. Our craft today was to make an umbrella. Next weeks theme is St. Patrick's Day.
