Today was the last story hour of 2018! We had 17 children and 8 adults. Our theme today was Santa. I started by asking the kids about what they thought Santa was like when he was little. This led us right into our first story

Little Santa by Jon Agee This story is about Santa when he was a kid and how he became Santa as we know him. After the story we sang a song called "Christmastime" to the tune of "Wheels on the Bus." Our next story was

Clear moon, Snow soon by Tony Johnston This story is about how Santa comes in the night to leave presents, but even though we try hard to catch him, we never do. After the story we did a rhyme where we pretended to be trees, reindeer, and little boys and girls jumping for joy. We also did a hand-play of Santa popping out of the chimney. Our last story today was based on a true story and written by a local author

The Christmas Pony by Linda Layman This story is told from the perspective of the pony and how he was a Christmas present for a little boy a long time ago. Our craft today was to make Santa Claus ornaments to hang on our trees. Story Hour will meet again on Jan. 8th. Our theme will be Snow,Snow, Snow. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
